Students who will be pursuing an education in the fine arts at the college level. The scholarships are in memory of Joseph D. Thomas, a long-time director for The Portland Players.

Scholarship Amount: There may be one scholarship or as many as four, depending upon the amount we have been able to dedicate over the past season. We reserve the right to change the amount (not less than $500) and the number of winning applicants.

• Professional appearance
• Prepared, appropriate material
• Artistic presentation
• Voice/expression
• Interview (Question and Answer)
• Timeliness of meeting deadline of submitting materials:
  • Letter of recommendation
  • Transcripts
  • Performance resume
  • Audition materials
    • Essay

Applications are due April 15 of the award year.
