Gus LeBlanc Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship honors the memory of Wilfred "Gus" LeBlanc, a longtime educator, administrator, mentor, and coach who passed away in February 2024.

Students must be seniors on track to graduate from one of the Androscoggin Valley public high schools (Edward Little High School, Leavitt Area High School, Lewiston High School, Lisbon High School, Oak Hill High School, or Poland Regional High School) with plans to attend a two- or four-year college or university.

The scholarship will be awarded to one or more graduating seniors who demonstrate qualities of leadership, perseverance, character, and integrity and demonstrate a commitment to service or involvement within their community.
Scholarship Amount: $500-$1000
Application Process:

Applicants fill out a form in which they provide basic demographic and contact information, their GPA, and contact information for a recommender (a teacher, advisor, guidance counselor, administrator, or coach with a school district email address) who can speak to their academics, character and integrity. Applicants also write two short essay responses: one about how they embody qualities of leadership and demonstrate a commitment to community service/involvement, and another in which they discuss what their education means to them and how it will help them achieve their goals.
